You have tons of work to finish during the weekdays. You wake up and rush to work. Therefore, if it’s a holiday or during the weekends, you feel relieved. There are weekends when you still have a lot to do, but there are times when there’s nothing on your schedule. You already finished the pending tasks. You don’t have to meet with anyone. You don’t intend to travel elsewhere. Since you have an empty slate, these are the things you might want to do.
Take a long bath
Since you have nothing on your schedule, no one can prevent you from having a long bath. Take as much time as you want since it’s something you don’t do on a regular day. You usually rush for work and spend at most ten minutes in the shower room. When you have quality steam showers, you won’t mind staying inside for even an hour. Given how stressful the previous days were, you deserve to have this opportunity.
You deprived yourself of sleep for the past days because of work. You might even have as little as three hours of sleep each night. When you had to meet a deadline, you were lucky to even have time to sleep before going to work. Since you have nothing else to do, it might be in your best interest to sleep. You usually don’t have this chance, so you need to make the most of it.
Spend time with your kids
You might also start to lose time with your kids given how busy you are with work. It’s unfortunate because you work hard to provide for the needs of your children. Since you have a lot to deal with in the office, you don’t have any time for the people you love. You can make it up when there’s nothing on your schedule. It doesn’t mean that you can constantly do it to make up for all the lost time, but you need to make the most of the opportunity in front of you.
Read a book
When was the last time you read a book? Perhaps, you spend a lot of time reading newspapers and articles because of your job. There’s nothing wrong in reading academic articles. However, books help extract your creative juices. They transport you to places and situations. It also feels good to live in an alternate reality even for a while especially if your reality is too stressful.
You usually find yourself in the middle of a heated discussion among your colleagues. You always rush to work and hear the bustling noise of the city. You don’t have time to be alone and be away from the loud sounds. Therefore, if you have the chance to stay home or be in a quiet place, you need to grab it. Meditation helps clear your mind. You will come back better and feeling recharged after a long meditation session.
With these activities, you can say that your free day was worth it.
