I have many people in my life who have inspired me to be better, reach further and aim higher in order to realize my dreams. One person who’s career I have followed for a long time no wis that of Arnon Dror, ex-VP of Xerox and Portland, Oregon resident such as myself. I first saw this man some years ago giving a speech about success, and much of what he said really hit a note with me. This incredible man is a senior executive who has studied in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where he gained an MBA in business and MA, before launching his successful career. From advertising trafficking to smart business decisions, this man has covered it all and here are his tips on finding your success.
Understanding What You Are Aiming For
The first step that you need to think about is what is your idea of success. Many of us buy into the dreams of others and assume that we want things like money, power and respect. These may be what you consider to be successes but you need to think long and hard about what you deem to be success, and then you can start going after it.
Mapping Out The Path
We can very often be overwhelmed by the challenge in front of us and this can leave many to believe that they may not achieve what they want, so they stop looking for it before they have even started. To overcome this, you should map out what the road to success looks like, what obstacles and challenges you may face and ultimately how will the process look upon completion. Of course it is likely that your path to success is very different from the one that you are mapping out, but this exercise serves to give you the confidence and belief that you can achieve what you are looking for.
Dedication
If you are not prepared to dedicate all of yourself to the search of success, then there is little point in even trying. Everyone who has achieved the success that they were looking for will tell you that without the commitment and the passion to achieve such things, you will never get to where you want to be. Think about how much you really want the thing that you are aiming for, if the answer is a strong yes then you must be prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve it.
Reminders
A simple yet very effective tip when aiming for success, is to give yourself constant reminders of what it is that you are aiming for. This could be something simple like a photograph in your office or wallet, a mission statement on the front door at home, or anything else which will remind you exactly why you are doing what you are doing. A simple reminder like this can really help you to stay driven towards your goals.
