Things to Avoid When Creating Your Home Theatre

Brisbane is a bustling metropolis with tons of opportunities for outdoor excitement and fun. With an explosive entertainment scene, it is no surprise that the city also has a world-class film industry with talented names, top production facilities, and the like. Whether you are a film critic or simply looking to pass time, you will surely enjoy watching movies on the big screen. However, going to the cinema all the time can be tiring and expensive, so what better way to watch your favourite films than by doing so from home?

Getting a home theatre installation in Brisbane is common for many homeowners today. With advanced TVs and sound systems out in the market, it is possible to replicate the cinematic experience without leaving your home. However, the great thing about a home theatre is that it can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. You do not necessarily need to build a separate room for it as you can use your living room or a spare room that may have been left unused.

With all that said, building a home theatre can be quite technical, and without the right planning, you may not be able to get the same viewing experience. To avoid those common mistakes, here are things to avoid as you work on your project.

Wrong Screen Size

When choosing a TV, a bigger screen does not necessarily mean better. Similar to a cinema, the goal is to find a size that covers your line of vision completely, allowing you to get immersed in the experience. Anything smaller and you will not get the same excitement, and anything bigger and you will not be able to view all angles of the screen clearly.

Over-Budgeting

It can be easy to splurge on the highest-quality equipment to ensure your home theatre installation in Brisbane delivers the best experience, but in reality, you do not need to get the best products to achieve that. Spending more will not always result in a better theatre as the important thing is to get quality equipment that functions well. With that in mind, you should also be careful not to under-budget since you want your investments to last a long time.

Sitting Too Close or Far Away

Seating is crucial to ensure you get the best visual experience from your position. If you sit too close, you might get distracted by the visible pixels and mistake it for poor quality, but if you sit too far, you might not catch all the fine details on the screen. Several manufacturers and companies have weighed in on the optimal distance, and will provide a table of screen sizes that is apt for the corresponding distances. There is no fixed rule to follow in determining the viewing distance, but you can check out such guides and experiment to see what works best for you.

Overexposure to Sunlight

Exposure to sunlight can affect your TV’s image quality while outside noise can cause acoustic disruptions. When recreating the cinema experience, you are trying to remove all possible background noise and making the room as dark as possible for that added excitement. Thus, select a room that has little to no windows and openings, or cover these with blackout blinds to keep the sun out even during the day.
