I have been using a great beauty clinic called Sono Bello in Denver for some years now, but I had to change recently as I moved locations. Finding a great beauty clinic is tough, but during my search I met a girl named Debra who told me that she had a new clinic opening up. We have since made friends and I have come to realize that Debra is an absolute genius when it comes to marketing. The beauty industry is highly competitive and yet in her first year, Debra has managed to eat up a huge amount of market share. I wanted to share with you all just how Debra has managed to use the power of the internet to drive her business to new heights.

Word of mouth has long been the best way for people to find out about a business, and the same is still true today. Debra quickly realized that she needed to have some kind of online reputation in order tho succeed, so she began offering 5% off coupons to her customers who left reviews or helpful comments. It is important to mention that Debra wasn’t asking the clients to lie or amp up their review in order to get the coupon, she just wanted honest reviews. What this has lead to is a booming online reputation, and the chance to find out about any issues within the store.
Debra created a Facebook page as soon as she set up the business and she uses it in an incredibly clever way. What I love most about the way that she uses the social media site is that she will actively engage with her clients on there. This is something which not a lot of business do, and Debra has really reaped the rewards from this strategy. Another use of Facebook for Debra is to share offers which are coming up, and generally to create a little bit of hype about the business. Before an offer goes live she will write about it and share well taken photos and videos, in order to whet people’s appetite ahead of the offer. This means that when the offer lands, everyone wants a piece of the action.

Debra invested heavily in the design of her company website, a move which I honestly thought was a little bit risky, especially given the fact that she wasn’t running an online business. With this being said, it turned out to be a masterstroke by Debra because she now sees a lot of traffic to the site, thanks to the blogging and news items which are shared on the page. Equally customers are more inclined to see Debra because her site hides nothing, it details all of the treatments available with prices, and people can even make an appointment straight onto the website.
These three items alone have massively boosted how much the shop makes and Debra’s use of the internet has been instrumental in that success.
